…or, everything looks like a nail when all you have is a hammer…
For the past 6 months or so, I think that CSR can probably be – justifiably – accused of seeing yellow VW bugs all over the place and pummeling our prospective clients arms into jelly.
Except instead of yellow VW bugs, we are all about the strategic plans.
Which brings me to the second part of the above title – is that really all y’all want to talk about?
Well, yeah, I mean, I guess.
Do you need a strat plan before you can do anything???
No, of course not. Don’t be silly.
We are growth accelerators – we do a really really good job at driving this in small companies (typically $50MM and below in annual revenues). What we have learned over time is that putting thought into continued effort yields a great result.
You can do the planning beforehand or after you’ve started – there is actually a school of thought that suggests not over-planning before starting (think the hipsters in Portlandia that never leave their home to go on a walk because they have to equip themselves with every possible gear that they might need).
We don’t disagree with this.
Our strategic planning exercises typically take a half or full day and the work product is a 10-15 page practical document that allows you to get a ton of value. Oh yeah – and we also can implement that strategic plan for you (insert salesman wink here!).
So, we are a little crazy in love with strategic plans at CSR (even my LinkedIn profile supports it – just got another endorsement from someone I’ve never met that says I’m great at strategic planning!). Let’s talk some more about it to see if you need any of your nails hammered!
