App Review: Smart Record

I’ve found that there is some sort of façade of a competitive advantage for people who can remember the highlights of a meeting without taking notes. If you have that ability, all admiration to you, but if you are like me and need assistance in making the most of meetings, read on.

I have researched several tools to support my note taking abilities, keeping in mind ideals of efficiency and effectiveness. Many apps have one or two beneficial features, but none are holistically perfect. The best I found is Smart Record, a convenient and practical personal note-taking app.

Picture yourself in a meeting. A coworker is rushing through PowerPoint slides as he pitches his ideas. You want to remember what he says, but especially his key slides and speaking points. Worry no longer! With Smart Record, at the touch of a button, you can record the audio of a meeting and insert a bookmark, note, or picture to pinpoint a highlight. Even better, you can multi-task using other apps and return without ever stopping the recording. What more can you ask for?

All of these features are complemented by a very simple and user-friendly interface. A few added features allow for some flexibility, but not to the point where it is overwhelming.

As much as I would like to say this is the omnipotent app you’ve been looking for, the iOS only and limited sharing capabilities are setbacks that hopefully will be addressed soon.

Give it a try and let us know what you think!
