What kind of a title is that?
Pick the one that catches your attention most, because I have something important
to share with you.
There are lots of ways to make a living – some generate a lot of income at
the expense of your personal life/values. Others the opposite – my goal
with this business (as the founder and owner) has been to thread the needle:
create a business where it’s possible to make a decent living while having a
balanced approach to living one’s life.
We are a strategy consultancy that focuses on professional service
providers – our goal is to make that small business leader’s dreams come
true. The way we do this is by working with our clients to create a
strategic plan and then offer them the help to implement it. Significant,
material revenue and profit results when the plan is followed.
What drives our purpose? Click on this link and you’ll hear a recent
interview with me where I talk about it.
In a nutshell, my Dad and Aunt (just two who are representative samples)
were poster children of our ideal client: smart, well-educated, highly
trained professionals who couldn’t manage themselves out of a wet paper bag.
My Dad, a senior research engineer at Georgia Tech who had come over from
Cuba to go to school at Georgia Tech before realizing (upon Castro’s takeover) that
he wouldn’t be allowed to leave Cuba if he would’ve returned, and my aunt (a
physician in Cuba who came to the States and passed her boards here to then
start a successful pediatric practice) committed all of the classic small
business leader mistakes.
Big time.
Trusting the wrong people.
Not knowing how to talk about their businesses or drive sales.
Hiring the wrong people. Hiring the wrong people at the wrong time.
Hiring the wrong people at the wrong time for the wrong compensation.
Working with people like this and enabling them to make it and to realize the
fruits of their hard work – this is what I live for. This is what CSR is
about.
