Delegation vs. Abdication

One of the things that I find most challenging when helping a lot of my clients has to do with the topic of delegation.

Serious stuff – not to be confused with abdication.

Typically, I get asked to help not (funnily enough) when a company is about to go out of business, but when they are stuck; that is, they can’t quite seem to get to that next step or level.

Nine times out ten, the problem has to do with the owner being the chokepoint for future growth:

Understanding that it’s not all about them and that the only way that the company can grow is if they “cut the cords” and let go in a controlled and competent way to the right resources is the first step in an important trajectory to success.
